Abstract
In recent years increasing interest has been reported on the problems of electrocardiographic and clinical features of bilateral bundle branch block, their association with complete heart block, myocardial infarction and other acquired or congenital heart diseases and their prognostic importance including the role of artificial pace making in management.
We observed 6 cases of bilateral bundle branch block among 1233 cases of EKG during past 11 months and: the incidence rate of 0.48% was very high in con,_ parison with previous reports of 0.1 %. The right bundle branch block with left anterior hemiblock and the right bundle branch block with left posterior hemiblock was 3 cases each and equal in incident . According to previous reports the former was more
frequent than the latter. Bilateral bundle branch block associated with complete heart block and Adams-Stokes:: syndrome was seen in one case. One case of bilateral bundle branch block complicating acute myocardial infarction and one case of bilateral bundle branch block in the patient with aortic steno-insufficiency were interestingly observed. Two cases of bilateral bundle branch block without any evidence of organic heart diseases were seen in young persons and this is inr teresting problem requiring further evaluation.
